At Christmas Letter Tips.com, you’ll find two kinds of printable Santa letters – no frills freebies or premium Word templates you can customize and print at home.

If you choose the free printable Santa letters, you’ll be able to choose from two fairly plain letters. One has a simple image of Santa Claus and the other has an image of Santa and his reindeer flying through the sky. Both are available as pdf files, which means you can’t personalize them. But if you’re looking for a free letter from Santa, either of these will fit the bill.

If you’d like something a bit more colorful and want to be able to personalize your letter with your child’s information, check out their printable Santa letter templates. These documents are available in Microsoft Word format, so once you purchase them, they’re yours to use as many times as you like, as long as you comply with their “personal use only” policy (i.e., you can’t start your own Santa letter business with these). They have two full-color images to choose from, and you simply need to open the template in Word and replace the placeholder text with your child’s information.

They also offer nice printable Santa’s Nice List certificates.

In addition to offering printable Santa letters and matching envelopes, Instaletter now offers Santa’s Good List certificates as part of the program. For instance, the text of one of the letters reminds children, “the most special gift you can get at Christmas is a gift that was already given long ago – the gift of our Savior, Jesus Christ. God gave that gift to all his children of the world, and we’re so very lucky that we can celebrate the birth of Jesus every year at Christmas time.”

The site also offers some Santa history about the connection between Saint Nicholas and Santa Claus, and lists a variety of Christian gifts available on eBay, which, the site says, “helps us offer the free Santa letters.”

But as with other MS Word Christmas templates, you could customize the letter even more and add or delete text. That’s the nice thing about having a printable Santa letter that you can edit and reuse at home.

The letters are $3.99 for your unlimited personal use, or you could opt for the free printable Santa letter. The free version features the same snowman design, but it’s only available as a .pdf document that can’t be edited.

1. Help your kids learn to be polite. Suggest that they start their letter with a polite inquiry about Santa’s life with a question such as “How have you and Mrs. Claus been?” or with a statement such as, “I hope your year has been going well.” Remind them that they only write a letter to Santa Claus once a year and before they ask him to bring lots of presents, they should say something nice to him.

2. Reinforce their good behavior. Encourage your kids to write about something good they’ve done this year so Santa knows if they’re on the Naughty or Nice list. They might want to write something such as, “I’ve been very nice to my sister this year” or “I have been keeping my room clean.”

3. Go ahead, ask for the toys. NOW let them know they can ask Santa for some toys. Encourage them to keep it to a few favorites.

4. End the letter with a thank you.. Encourage your kids to end their letter with a thank you to Santa for bringing toys and cheer to little kids and then have them sign it.
